Hemp Seed Oil for Anxiety Relief

Hemp is a member of the Cannabis sativa (Cannabis group plant). Hemp Seed Oil is different from cannabidiol (CBD) and does not contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural remedy used to treat various common ailments whereas THC, also known as tetrahydrocannabinol provides a high associated with the use of marijuana. The oil extracted from the hemp seed plant is highly beneficial for health problems and skincare. It also helps relieve symptoms linked with anxiety, a mental health condition. Before moving forward and understanding how hemp seed oil is beneficial for anxiety relief, let’s discuss the chemical properties of the hemp seed oil.

Hemp seed oil comprises vitamins, minerals, all 21 amino acids, and most importantly, omega-3 fatty acids, beta-sitosterol, and gamma-tocopherol.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Oil pressed from hemp seeds comprises Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids that are beneficial to reduce anxiety symptoms. Experiments and research were conducted on patients suffering from behavioral health conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. In a conclusion, the properties of Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids promoted healthy brain function and helped impair traumatic event memories.

Anxiety is common in patients with thyroid issues, heart disease, diabetes, asthma, suffering from chronic pain syndromes, irritable bowel syndrome, or rare tumor conditions. To suppress the anxiety issues indirectly and overcome such diseases, naturopath suggests consumption of fatty acid sources rich in omega-3s than omega-6s.
