Top 3 Cannabinoids and Their Effects

Cannabinoids are active chemical compounds generated by the Cannabis sativa plants. Generally, these compounds act on the cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2) present in the cells, which results in the release of neurotransmitters in the brain and other functions. This release or reaction is not applicable only to human bodies but also works on mammals with an endocannabinoid system.

Cannabinoids found in plants are referred to as phytocannabinoids. In fact, our bodies also naturally produce Anandamide and 2-AG (the so-called endocannabinoids) as part of the endocannabinoid system’s functions.
